CCMA exam-day rules
Bring a current government-issued photo ID, use only the built-in exam calculator and plan to finish in one 3 hours session.
Rules from the NHA Candidate Handbook
- Bring a current government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver's license or passport) showing your photo, signature and permanent address; remote proctors check ID too.
- If the ID address differs from your registration address, also bring proof of address such as a current utility bill.
- You initial the roster after ID verification. If you cannot be verified you are denied entry.
- Prohibited: phones, computers, tablets, e-readers, cameras, watches, AI glasses, earbuds/earphones, electronic translators, calculators, other electronic devices, reference books and papers (unless approved as an accommodation).
- Use only the built-in exam calculator.
- Finish in one continuous session. In person, leaving the room is allowed only with proctor approval, one examinee at a time, and break time counts toward the 3 hours.
- No breaks at all during Live Remote Proctoring.
- The proctor will not answer questions about exam content.
- Eating or drinking in the exam room is not allowed unless needed for a documented medical condition and approved as an accommodation before exam day.
- No other person may be in the room at any time during a remote (LRP) exam; follow the remote proctor's instructions about the testing area.
Scratch materials
- PSI test center: physical whiteboard, marker and eraser from the proctor (no scratch paper since June 1, 2026).
- Live Remote Proctoring (LRP): digital whiteboard in the testing platform (no scratch paper since June 1, 2026).
- Exam at your school or employer: 2 sheets of scratch paper from the proctor, returned before leaving.
